Abstract:A suitable barn environment can promote the growth and development of beef cattle, ensure their health and welfare, and improve economic efficiency. The indoor environment of the barn is mainly influenced by factors such as temperature, humidity, ventilation, lighting and noise. In northern regions of China, the large temperature difference between the inside and outside of barns during winter is one of the main factors limiting the development of beef cattle farming. This article provides an overview of commonly used insulation and heating techniques, ventilation techniques, lighting techniques, photovoltaic technologies, and smart environmental control technologies in beef cattle barns in northern China, aiming to provide reference for beef cattle farming in the northern region.
