Abstract The study was aimed to investigate the protective effect of the extracts of Coriolus versicolor Schisandra chinensis (CSE) on acute alcoholicinduced liver injury in mice. The acute alcoholicinduced liver injury model of ICR mice was established. The liver pathological changes were observed by H&E staining. The protective effects of CSE on acute alcoholicinduced liver injury in mice were determined by the levels of ALT, AST, MDA, TG, T-CHO, LDL-C and HDL-C in serum, SOD, CAT, GSH-Px and MDA in liver tissue. The results showed that CSE could significantly improve liver cell exfoliation and fatty degeneration caused by alcohol. Moreover, CSE could effectively improve oxidative stress in mice, which decreased the activities of ALT, AST and the content of MDA, TG, T-CHO and LDL-C, and increased the content of HDL-C in serum; at the same time, CSE decreased the content of MDA and increased the activities of SOD, GSH-Px and CAT in liver tissue. This indicated that CSE can alleviate the acute alcoholicinduced liver injury, and the medium dose groups are the best.
